For a number of years now, MCU has consecutively earned a place in the Top 20 Universities with Excellent Achievements’ Rankings by Cheers. Once again, on February 3, 2021, Cheers announced MCU as ranking top 12 for devotion to promoting multi-lingual cross-border education and cultivating students with global employability.
In the Cheers survey, distinctive internationalized education has become an important trend for sustainable operation of higher education institutions. Implementing internationalization for 20 years since 2000, MCU’s English-taught International College has cultivated numerous outstanding alumni and earned a reputation for teaching excellence. MCU has earned Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) accreditation, which is the same association accrediting Cornell University, Columbia University, New York University, and more. MCU has not only met the same standards for accreditation as these renowned institutions but has also established MCUMI (Michigan Location) and promoted the Ming Chuan Global Education System, on which the sun never sets.
Take the 1st semester of 2020-21 as an example, there were 940 international students and 697 Overseas Chinese students from Hong Kong and Macao studying at MCU, which is an increase of 3.2% compared to 2019-20, even under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic. MCU takes special care of international students and with responsible units assigned to implement counseling in line with its educational philosophy of “Attending to all students with parental care, support, and guidance” for both domestic and overseas students.
